about
CHUMP is a full band guitar-hero revelation. The first of a four song EP that pushes through an unfolding search for self-knowledge and the origins of regret. It’s a botched hero’s journey sung to a major key in front of a wall of electric guitars. Produced by the multi-talented Erik Groysman (S.E. Webster, Cape Weather, Drunk History) who rips some sick guitar solos and holds down the bass guitar and Eric Jackowitz (The Cooties, Wolves of Glendale) on drums.
lyrics
Maybe I like being a chump
Maybe I like missing out on the fun
I like being upset
(yea!)
I'll live my life obsessed with regret
Give me someone to blame
I'll starve myself and get sick on the shame
I've got nothing to lose
Come on, baby. Load me up with abuse
I heard you say you're not sorry
I heard you say that you're not sorry
I heard you say you're not sorry
I heard you say that you're not sorry
Oh God it's never enough
I'm sick and tired of pretending I'm tough
I'm the same little boy
Give me something to possess and destroy
Could I be more like you
Strong enough to cut me in two
Why do I even exist
I'll do my part and save the planet
I heard you say you're not sorry
I heard you say that you're not sorry
I heard you say you're not sorry
I heard you say that you're not sorry
(shredding guitar solo)
Maybe I like being
Maybe I like being
Maybe I like being a
Maybe I like being afraid
Buy a gun and keep my family safe
I miss knowing my friends
I wonder when this decade will end
Baby don't be depressed
Paint your nails and put on a new dress
At least we still got the kids
Just make sure they don't do what you and I did
