about
Another song of disappointment and betrayal. Are you sensing a theme?
Another tale of inability to look after myself and remain blissfully naive until the party is over. I've learned to frame it as a feature and not a bug, but it still hurts. I know I have to take responsibility. I know how lucky I am. But I don't like losing friends. I also don't like my contributions being marginalized and ultimately denied.
I don't know how else to work it out, but through song. So here's a peak at the most petty part of me. Maybe you can relate.
lyrics
Don't wanna see your face
Don't wanna take your place
Don't wanna die a fucked up angry little man
Maybe we're the same but
I'm saving who I can
I hear you in my ear
I feel you when you're near
I can't pretend you’ve been a real good friend
I loved you like a brother
then you shoved me again
I'm truly sorry, this pity party is getting old, the guests are getting sad
Congratulations, you really caved in
You gave your best and your best was really bad
You're just a little Over-Romantic
You'll never let it go
You’ve fallen out of touch
Maybe I expect too much
Picking up is the least that you could do
Give me some perspective
What haven’t I given you
I know I’m wasting breath
I’ve got next to nothing left
I would rather die than try again
Enjoy your empty castle
I’ll be making amends
I'm truly sorry, this pity party is getting old, the guests are getting sad
Congratulations, you really caved in
You gave your best and your best was really bad
You're just a little Over-Romantic
You'll never let it go
Fuck off
